Breaking Bad’s Tiny Details

17 Apr

A person could easily go mad picking out the blue and yellow in Breaking Bad, and while it was most pronounced in the first episode, there have been a few little ones here and there. Above is an example of the level of detail that makes the show so good. It isn’t necessary for the story to have a shot that far away, the sequence could have been shot from inside the car and we would have got all the same information. What separates Breaking Bad from other, less interesting shows is all the extra details they present with explicitly stating so. The tape is there because we know he’s just had the windscreen replaced, and it’s blue to subtly remind the audience that it was his fault, and that after everything that has happened he still can’t come to terms with what he’s done.
